The Award signifies years of hardwork, tremendous contribution to the sport and longevitiy of their careers.

This year the IAU is pleased to announce the following three very deserving selections to receive the IAU Career Award 2016:

Originally from Sweden, Rune has reached far and beyond.

Late Chet Sainsbury (RSA)

Chet Sainsbury was the Race Director of the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town, South Africa. Under his tenure he developed this race from a small club race to one of the biggest high quality ultras of the world. He had done tremendous work for ultrarunning in South Africa. During his time at the Two Oceans Marathon both the men´s and women´s world´s best performances for the 50km were broken on the course. Sadly he passed away in 2015.
